What makes Secret unique compared to other cryptocurrencies is its use of both symmetric and asymmetric encryption protocols, ensuring robust security and privacy. Secret utilizes asymmetric cryptography to achieve consensus and share secrets between nodes and users, while symmetric cryptography is used for input/output encryption with users of Secret Contracts and internal contract state encryption. This approach effectively maintains the confidentiality of users' bids until the end of the auction and protects sensitive information. Additionally, Secret Network has its own fungible token standard called SNIP-20 tokens or Secret Tokens, which function similarly to ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum.
